We are a home based program licensed by the State of California to provide care for 12- 14 children, located in Union City. We operate year round and serve children of ages 18 months to school age. An after school program is offered for children who attend Delaine Eastin Elementary. Priority is usually awarded to continuing students who graduate from our preschool program. Transportation to and from school may be available.
We provide breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks during a full day. We are registered with the Child and Adult Food Program, designed to ensure that children in care get the best possible nutrition. Quarterly unannounced visits occur to assure programs are in compliance. Smiling Faces has not received any deficiencies during a licensing or a food program visit since established.
Children are supervised at ALL times during indoor and outdoor play. Safety is a key factor at our program.
When setting up my environment, I wanted to keep in mind for a fun and safe learning environment as every child deserves. When a child receives individualized care and attention, he/she will get a sense of security which will foster an endless learning opportunity. We have two groups of children divided up during our structured school hours. The toddlers and the preschoolers are led in a daily circle time and group activities by a teaching staff. (Please refer to daily routine for a complete schedule) We have a structured schedule to ensure consistency for the children. Activities are implemented based on a weekly theme. Children’s smiles come from the excitement of learning and the celebrations that occur in our program. Please visit our Photo Gallery to see images of kids in action.
